Santiago de Compostela city is located in the heart of Galicia, of which it is both the spiritual and the political capital.There are some evidences of a primitive Celtic population, and it is proved by several excavations its continuity in the low-Roman and Germanic times. However,  its great impulse starts in the early IX century, when  it was discovered in its outskirts,  the sepulchre burying the body of Santiago Apostle beheaded in Palestine and moved to Galicia by his disciples.
The main monument of Santiago is its Cathedral which began to be built in the year 1075, standing out the Heaven Porch,extraordinary work of the Romanesque Art and attributed to Master Mateo. Within the Cathedral landmarks, it stands up the Obradoiro Baroque facade and the Platerías facade, the Holy Door and the Censer.
