Cies Islands
The Cies Islands natural park is situated in the natural entrance of the Vigo ria. Consisting of two islands, although they seem to be three at first sight; the Monteagudo island, well-known as the north island, and San Martin island or south island. The last one has no service and it is only possible to access it by private or rented boat. On the contrary the north island counts with dock station where the programmed tours arrive at by means of the steamboats crossing the ria- and has nice hotel services and a first category camping.
The visitor is highly surprised by the whiteness of the beaches sand as well as by its water transparency and the great colourful of the sea bottom. It has one of the most important colonies of sea birds, standing out the silver-plated seagull, the "cormoran moñudo", the shady seagull and the last sedentary specimens of "common arao" from the Iberian subspecies.
